Our Annual Eid meet and family gathering will be held as below ..
We started our cultural programs just after 1 pm and before the actual opening ceremony to accommodate more programs and for a better management of time. We started our inaugural program with the welcome speech by Shafi followed by Moosan (Secretary of LUMMA)’s brief speech on goals and activities of LUMMA as an organisation since its beginning in 2016. The program was inaugurated by our chief guest, the Mayor of Luton, Mr. Tahir Malik who appreciated LUMMA for its services within and outside the community and its achievements within a short span of time. Our special guest, Dr Abdul Hakeem Azhari, Director of Markaz knowledge city, Kozhikode, who was introduced by Dr. Sultan (President of LUMMA) was another attraction of the event. Dr. Azhari gave a speech on the importance of Ramadan, which gave humans an opportunity to uplift their status closer to angels.
Hope everyone enjoyed LUMMA’s Eid and 3rd annual meet yesterday. Masha Allah, it was absolutely amazing experience for all of us with a gathering of 54 families (with a total of 225 people) coming from as far as London, Nottingham, Oxford and so on. We had participation of all other organisations in our community in the UK such as MMCWA, KAMP, EMMMA,SAMASTHA,AL-EHSAN, STRIVE-UK.

Inaugural function was immediately followed by cultural programs led by our own Abul Salam in his usual style without sparing anyone of us to get bored even for a minute. The kids and adults did a superb performance with a mix of programs such as songs, dances and skits. Except for the few unexpected technical glitches, the kids tried their level best and they were absolutely a pleasure to watch.
Quite adhering to LUMMA norms as always, it was a great team effort led by the executive committee members like Shahid, Abdul Salam, Shafi, Suhana, Azeemsha, Nasweeph and so on. May Allah bless you all. As most of us know, LUMMAs success and core strength is always LUMMA ladies. We really appreciate the ladies’ effort to organise a snack stall as part of our fund-raising activity. The snack stall had a stock of traditional Malabar items such as unnakkaya, irachipathiri, carrot pola, kadalapathiri, date fry, cup cakes and more. We really appreciate those involved: Suhana, Shahanaz (Hemel), Shadiya, Farzana, Nazeeha, Fathima, Kaulatha and Shahanas for preparing mouth watering dishes.
We would like to thank Sharafu and his catering services (Matbakh Al Khaleej) for serving a delicious chicken biriyani for the lunch at a special subsidised rate. We also thank other sponsors: Malabar Foods, London; Idealistic Financial Solutions, Cambridge and Global Study Link, London for their generous support. Last but not least, we thank all of you who have taken your precious time on the weekend to attend the Eid- meet yesterday. We appreciate your cooperation for any shortcomings during the event and we would love to hear your feedback and suggestions if you have got any.
